The moon was bright in the sky last night and looked like it had it own little moon orbiting it. That little moon was Mars. They will probably be showing again this evening if you want to look at this once in a lifetime event.
This hand drawing illustrates a new type of thought (for us anyway). Instead of body parts or fortune telling diagrams, this one shows our relationship to the universe. I found this on a site about Hindu relationship philosophy at hindustanlink.com. Interesting site.
Lackluster Faith
This is my favorite blog of all my blogs. The Realm of AbraMelin's Squares is a blog that requires sincerity and depth before a new post can be written. AbraMelin's Squares has a subject that excites me and after an entry is written, posting that entry fills me with more strength and determination than I had before writing it.
How to Manifest
Not my artwork; from Web |
After the window awning was built, I got a cup of coffee and sat back to admire the new home improvement and to enjoy the new confidence I felt in being able to create this magnificent awning.
I still marvel that I was able to draw a draft of how I wanted it to look, locate all the material I would need (didn't need to buy anything), carried the ladder from out back and propped it against the east side of the house, charged up the screw gun. etc.
Now it is evening and I'm trying to determine if Wayne Dyer's Manifesting tape which I listen to all the time is the philosophy behind the creation of that awning. For instance, I had to visualize it vividly in order to draw up the pencil drawing or draft of the awning.
I even visualize it and more while doing Dyer's 'sound manifestation' the previous day. In short, I visualized the awning and then went through all the tasks necessary to bring it into being. Was that really manifesting? I do not believe it is.
My awning was build with the use of the mind. Dyer's form of creating or building is done without the mind; Dyer uses sound vibration to create.
Frightful Fairy Tales Block Out Faith
Click on photo to enlarge |
This innocent young child sleeps peacefully as vague shadowy danger lurks close-by. Her room is decorated with all things good and nice, yet any child after having this tale read to them will go to bed frightened by the unknown, frightened by shadows, afraid to sleep too soundly even if their room is ideal, safe, and cozy.
I recall reading all the fairy tale classics in a red Collier's Encyclopedia children's edition collection my father bought when I was just starting first grade.
At first I would lay in bed and just look at the fascinating illustrations and create my own stories. After I learned to read, of course, the illustrations took on a whole new meaning and it was always, without exception, frightening.
How many children (as I did) looked into the bedroom at night and tried to jump on the bed from about three feet away so the monster under the bed could not grab our feet and pull us into the dark unknown under the bed. I could jump from five feet away.
My parents only laughed when I said a monster was under my bed and thought it was cute the way I'd jump from a distance into bed. But they did not believe it was necessary to rid me of the fear itself by looking under my bed.
Without those frightening (yet encouraged to read by parents) fairy tales, I may never have experienced fear. Was that the idea -- teach little children fear.
Help Bring Larry's Health Back
One more doctor trip to isolate Larry's problem and maybe he'll get proper diagnostic care; we' been going through this baloney for a year and no one is really intent on locating Larry's source of illness;
I only have you, our readers, to talk to about this. This day and age I believe sincerely private prayer for someone works better than a trip to a Dr. we see for 10 minutes and get a dozen new prescriptions to treat the symptoms.
The request for prayer from whoever reads this is what the piece of art is about. Larry is the center of your prayer and need so much energy and support; can barely move around, diagnosed with Degenerative Disk Disease by a country doctor. Will have specialist opinion in April 2010. I say let all just heal him and be done with it. We need to get back to driving the back roads locating old cars and trucks. == Thank you for helping.
Ritual to Empower Your Ring
How to Empower a Custom Ring
Any ring can be empowered, but a custom ring will always hold a great deal more power for one reason: the wearer of the ring is the creator of the ring.
Knowing exactly what you want the ring to look like and what materials you want in or on the ring infuses considerable power in the wearer of the ring.
Only the wearer of the ring can determine its power; let your subconscious design the ring if you do not already have a vivid image of what the ring will look like and consist of.
To let the subconscious design the ring, and assuming you are intuitive enough to recognize the ring design when you see it, carry a small notebook and a pen around with you, even take it to bed with you at night. Open the notebook often during the day and night and doodle.
When the time is right, when you know absolutely what you ring will consist of (gold, silver, bronze, copper, glass) make a detailed sketch. Color it. Put the drawing under your pillow for as long as it takes before you feel a strong urge to have the ring created by a jeweler or even yourself.
Some jewelers may try to convince you to use a different metal or a different design but do not change one thing from your original sketch. Let nothing sway you from creating it exactly as your subconscious and conscious have approved of. No one else in the world should have a say in your ring of power.

Ozark Superstititions: Passed down generations
The traditional Ozarkians were among the most superstitious group of people in American history.
Many of these superstitions were recorded and preserved in Ozark Folklore and Magic by Vance Randolf. Superstitions, generally, were not specific to any particular events. Superstitions recorded by Randolf included:
The superstition get more complicated when the superstition involved a sneeze:
If you run out of salt you will suffer a whole years poverty
It is bad luck to return borrowed dishes unwashed
If two friends are walking and a third party walks between them then the two friends must turn their backs to each other to avoid a quarrel
You should always leave by the same door you came in from
A rock with a hole in it is very good luck
It is bad luck to pick up a black button

- If a woman drops her dishrag, company is coming
- If a woman's nose itches then unexpected company will arrive
- If your right eye itches then bad luck will follow
- If your left eye itches then good luck will follow

Abramelin Benchmark
Ironically, it was done by my mother and brothers and all because of some misunderstanding. Since 2005 after Mom's near-death experience at St. John's, Simon (stepfather) and I never left her alone. I came over once a week and deep-cleaned their house because I knew that would make Mom feel better. I changed and washed sheets so the beds were fresh.
Larry and I both drove to the store for them, mowed the yard so Toby, Mom's Maltese, never had to have high grass on his belly. Larry and I had Mom and Simon's welfare above our own and felt 100% responsible for their well-being for three years 24/7. Only someone who has experienced Care Giving of Parents could understand how exhausting that is.
Then Simon passed away.
And a whirlwind of family hatred came down on us and blew our life into little pieces; I believe the ones doing this would have utterly destroyed us both if they could have. I have always lived right down the road Mom; the brothers have always lived in other far away states.
Abundance: Bring it On!
Abundance is something most of us are conditioned not to believe we should have. I know that I, as a Kansas girl, was raised believing having abundance of anything was almost a sin and to be shied away from.
I am still trying to believe in abundance; that it is all right to have plenty of something. That made me question how so many of us are so convinced in scarcity; that struggling is lordly.

Samuel Mathers and Abramelin 388
Samuel Liddell Mathers (1854 – 1918), founded the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, and translated Abramelin's ancient French manuscript and published it as a book.
The book I own by Liddell-Mathers warns the reader of his book do not even glance at the squares without knowing what you are doing.
I didn't even open the book for months, apparently the warning had an effect on me. I believed every word of it.
But months later I found out Mather's translation was weakened severely by these things:
One of the four books by Abramelin was left out of the French manuscript with which he worked.

But months later I found out Mather's translation was weakened severely by these things:

... possibly due to a mistranslation, Mathers changed one of the ingredients within the recipe for Abramelin's oil, specifying galangal instead of the original herb calamus. The oil in the German manuscript sources also contains cassia and is nearly identical to the biblical recipe for Holy anointing oil.
The differences between the recipes cause several notable changes in the oil's characteristics, including edibility, fragrance, dermal sensation, and spiritual symbolism.
Slso, there are 242 word squares in Mathers' translation, while the original German has 251. Most of the squares in Mathers are not completely filled in, and those that are differ markedly from the German sources.
A German translation, credited to Abraham of Worms and edited by Georg Dehn, was published in 2001 by Edition Araki.
NOTE: In the Dehn version, the fourth book is included and Mathers' galangal substitution is reverted back to calamus (though not in the English translation — see Abramelin Oil). All 251 of the word squares are completely filled in. An English translation of Dehn's edition was published 2006 by the American publisher Nicholas Hays.
St Valentine Beheaded; Left a Note
My media experience with Valentine's Day history has always been watching or seeing photos of a bloody massacre in Kansas City on February 14. Not romantic and insulting to our intelligence. I'm sure it will be played out many times today as well.
Here is the true history of Valentine's Day and it is very romantic and as far as I can tell, it is a true story. I will be paraphrasing and summarizing a lot but you'll still get the whole picture if I'm any good at this.
Timeline: about 300 years after the death of Jesus.
Place: Rome
Ruler: Claudius II the Cruel
Status of Rome: many unpopular wars were spurned on by Emperor Claudius.
Claudius' Problem: men did not want to go to war, they wanted to stay home with family
Summary: During this period a kind priest by the name of Valentine went about his daily duties and really didn't stand out from the crowd much at all, other than the villagers considered Priest Valentine the one to go to if they wanted to get married.
Claudius reasoned that if men could not get married, there would be nothing to hold them back from going off to his wars so he simply banned marriage and engagements in Rome. This shocking edict from an unpopular ruler did not go over well. Even the Holy Priest Valentine disobeyed the edict and continued to marry young couples as usual.
Claudius was infuriated by this disloyalty and ordered the priest arrested. He sentenced Valentine to be beaten and beheaded on February 14, 270 AD. While in prison awaiting his sentence, Priest Valentine, who was treated very well by the jailer's daughter, wrote her a note and signed it "From Your Valentine."
Over the next two thousand years, that incident has evolved into what we celebrate today as Valentine's Day.
Killing Men Witches Routine in 1950s
In the 1950s, Manning Nash, an anthropologist, spent a year in the southeastern highlands of Chiapas, Mexico, a humid, tropical climate close to the equator but in Mexico. (the engraving to the left was done by F. Catherwood around 1914. I found it on Wikipedia, copyright free).
Manning Nash found that witchcraft was alive and well in this country even in the 1950s. He said that in the nine months that he spent in Amatenango, every two months a man was murdered for being a witch.
The people in this region believe some men have animal twins called nawales. The nawal is the source of power in medical practice and all curers must have at least one nawal in their possession. A man's nawal is revealed to him in a dream later in life, however, he has possession of one from birth. These men use their power, which is essentially a medical and curing power, to keep the pueblos free from sickness.
However, as I mentioned at the beginning of this piece, at least one man was murdered every two months or so for misusing his power to heal. A nawal that turned vicious injected illness and ate the souls of the victims. A man's nawal assisted him in healing others, but when the nawal turned vicious, the man had to be put to death.

Within anthropology, Nagual is most commonly used negatively to refer to a person who has a particularly strong animal companion and who uses this companion to cause harm to others, or who himself changes shape into animals in order to cause harm to others. The normal practice is to refer to the animal companion itself as a Tonal, following the Aztec practice.
My Tree of Life Doodle
I doodled this tree back when my children were small and keep the drawing through many moves and tumbles. My life experiences resemble this drawing; back when I drew it I was afraid my life might go like that. Well, oh well.
Joy is Sorrow Unmasked
Once in awhile I'll open Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet and read the page I opened to. This morning I read this:
Then a woman said, Speak to us of joy and sorrow. And he answered: Your joy is your sorrow unmasked. And the selfsame well from which your laughter rises was oftentimes filled with your tears. . . The deeper that sorrow carves into your being, the more joy you can contain.I have had enough experience with both to agree that what Gibran says here is true. a less beautiful way of putting it would be every cloud has a silver lining. That saying always sounded cliché and I believed people said it just to shut you up about how bad you thought life was going. But it is true. Every time bad things happen, equally good things happen later, if you make it through the bad that is.
AbraMelin, Bible Codes, and Angels
In The Book of the Sacred Magic of Abra-Melin the Mage Abraham warns his younger son about the power of symbols. Abraham illustrated the manuscript he wrote for his youngest son, a manuscript Abraham thought would make up for the fact that the older son would inherit all material possessions.
In Abraham's words:
All these symbols are to be either buried in the ground or placed under doors, steps, or buried under paths and other places by which people do pass, or whereon they lean. . . . But should you do this to please some friend, Abraham warns his son, you would not escape easily with impunity from the disapproval of your Guardian Angel.
One Holistic Exercise to Change Life Now
Whether we perceive this axiom or whether we do not perceive it, the axiom remains true. Right now I sit at my computer typing this blog entry and I'm surrounded by plants, furniture, walls, roof, trees 'outside', raining weather and my husband who drifted off into a nap in his recliner.
Before my epiphany, each item would be separate from my awareness but strangely, now, I can perceive easily that I am but one pop-up, so to speak, in a conglomeration of potential pop-ups.
I not doing any mind altering drugs of any sort; I am fully awake and fully functional, yet I can make myself relax and melt into the conglomeration around me and with some effort I can perceive 'the world' from anywhere else I choose: this is fact and a fact I do hope will be permanent with me because it is extremely useful and quite valuable and definitely powerful.
Don't waste time sloughing this off with a negating label (crazy, etc) because all that labeling does is close the door for yourself. Evolution dictates using a higher consciousness and this is definitely higher.
This is not a sudden change for me. I have been seeking this epiphany for a minimum of 40 years and seeking it with determination. This post marks the beginning of something and future posts will mark the growth of it.
Meadowlark Woman, Navajo goddess renders scalps harmless.
The Navajo people's philosophy resembles a swirling subtle energy without limit which the Navajo artists depict with soft iridescent color and lines. But the Navajo were not as gentle as their art suggests.
A Navajo goddess (although they did not use that term goddess) Meadowlark Woman (Tsiyayoji) provides the ashes that are necessary to render enemy scalps harmless. (source: Encyclopedia Mythica. 2010. Encyclopedia Mythica Online.18 Jan. 2010 http://www.pantheon.org/articles/t/tsiyayoji.html)
The Navajo people scalped their enemies? I thought the Navajo were almost angelic because of their artwork reflected such angelism. Yet many Native America people scalped their enemies and it was to keep that enemy warrior from the 'happy hunting grounds.' I guess the Navajo were no exception.
And after learning that the Navajo warriors turned to the spirit of Meadowlark Woman to render their enemy's scalps harmless, there is apparently more to 'scalping' than mutilation. I will need to research scalping some more and see what all I can find. To add to the interest in scalping, today scalping is a stock market term meaning much the same thing as 'render your enemy harmless.'
Thinking is An Evolving Thought
Thinking is not a powerful as pure thought; thinking is the laborious act of trying to form a clear thought. Thinking is to thought what climbing a mountain is to reaching the summit. When I'm thinking about a problem I'm wrestling with the problem; if I win the wrestling match, I am presented with a clear visualization of what I want the result to be; that visualization is thought.
I wish I could afford to buy that package about creative visualization for beginners. I wonder if I am a beginner or if I am midway or what -- sometimes I have the clarity and concentration to pound out vivid thoughts and fast, but not often.
Mostly, due to distraction, I just sit with a cup of coffee at the kitchen table and watch the birds, chickens, leaves blowing, car pass by, and the inertia of it all keeps me doing just that.
Yet, truthfully, I always feel better and can do much more work if I allow myself to sit and gaze upon nature. Maybe that is a part of it all; how wonderful if I can do that and not feel guilty about doing it.

Axioms of Manifesting
The fairy god-mother granting you a wish fable that runs through the consciousness of every child is actually an axiom not a fable. That fable runs through children's literature in nearly all countries in some form or another. The problem is, many advanced societies demand the concept be stamped down just when the child believes strongly enough to make it work.
Dr. Wayne Dyer has a few CDs on making things happen in life by adjusting one's consciousness with the use of sound vibrations. I have experimented with this type of meditation and it worked so well I backed off -- it is a new experience to have a coincidence happen within moments of visualizing a need for something. It is unnerving to say the least.
If you want to learn more about manifesting with sound vibrations, listen to Dr. Wayne Dyer's CD or any sound vibration theories.
You can also read some of my previous entries in which I practiced this meditation and experimented with various ways of doing it -- including placing the sound online so whoever read the sounds manifested the sound. I don't know it it works for the person reading it (only if they contacted me could I know), but I can certainly notice results in my immediate experiences. As I said before, the coincidences that happen are un-nerving.

Dreams: Wishes of the Soul
As far back as the 17th century, the Iroquois had a psychoanalytic theory about the meaning of dreams that was advanced to Freuds plus their theory was in effect at least 200 years before Freuds.
The Iroquois's psychoanalytic dream theory differs slightly from Freud's dream theory. The Iroquois theory today, appears much more balanced than Freud's.
Freud's psychoanalytic theory reduced all dream symbols to sexual or incestuous tendencies. Freud's theory did not explore or acknowledge soul detachment nor did he acknowledge the existence of supernatural beings.
The Iroquois worshiped and obeyed their dreams as though dreams were their god. This is interesting and I intend to write about 3 more posts about these interesting Native Americans.
